The pretty dogs; the dogs are pretty

So all those things I learnt in Spanish lessons - los perros bonitos, los perros son bonitos, etc - were not wasted. I have seen some fat cats, pretty girls, happy boys and big houses. Just as long as no one speaks to me, I am fine.
Back to the dogs - Buenos Aires is full of them and they all live in apartments, so dog walking businesses do very well. And just the right weather for walking dogs, as you can see.

I can't get enough of topiary dragons - see why

These dragons are next to the lake in cental Hanoi. The person who designed them had a nice sense of whimsy. And who said communists don't have fun? Imagine getting someone in Sydney to approve something playful like this.

Me and some revolutionary friends

Vietnam must be one of the last few places where the revolutionary statues are not just historical artefacts. Lots of people were getting their photos taken under these revolutionary heroes, so I thought I would join in.

Living the high life in Hanoi

It is not everyone who can get a plastic table and stool on the footpath and a bottle of warm water, but when you have connections, life can be pretty good.

Not Florence, but still a room with a view

A view of lots of roof tops, but below there are people everywhere - racing around on their bikes and squeezing every little bit out of life and what they have.

How smart are the Vietnamese?

No photos this time, just admiration for the Vietnamese - great food, vibrant cities, etc AND they have blocked Facebook. Will the pleasures never end?
