This is Gavin outside the library in Subotica. The Austrians certainly spent up big on public buildings. You can also see our translator Vesna looking very chilly - it was cold out there.
Subotica is a lovely little town just on the Serbian side of the border with Hungary. So there is a strong Hungarian influence darhlink. Here are two shots of me in the town square practising the look that the Serb officials give us when we suggest even mild change.
Coming from Sydney's January humidity, the zero degree temperature, wind chill and light snow in Istanbul were a shock. You get the idea from the scarf, etc I am wearing in this photo taken in front of Haghia Sophia.
As you will see from this shot, the baths in Auckland describe themselves as "tepid", a word rarely (and sadly) hardly used these days. My 4 days in Auckland was anything but tepid. A great town, very interesting, with a charm of its own.
I am a freelance blog glamour puss, and specialist in international relations, who flies around the world to take photos that will hopefully entertain my public. In between, I do a bit of land law consulting, just to keep my friends and the tax authorities thinking that I have a real job.
